Childhood

Life Story by Daniel | Saturday, November 10, 2007 | 4 comments »

Everyday when I walk home, I will walk through a Park near my place.

Although there's different route I can take, some even shorter, but I'll still prefer walking through the Park.

Why?

Because in the Park, time seems to move slower from the normal fast pace world that we live in.
All around the park is Feeling of Joy and Sound of Laughter.

I can hear the Bell of the Ice Cream Man ringing, Birds flying freely in the Sky Chirping Happily and most important of all, the Laughter of the Children playing in the park.

I will often slow down my steps and look at the Children Playing around the Park.

A Little Sister alone playing with her doll while her Elder Brother is playing Hide-and-Seek with his Friends.

Bunch of Good Friends Racing against each other on their Precious Bicycle.

Two good Friends Sitting on the Swing side by side, sharing their experience and things happening in School.

These are the things that we often do when we were young.

What about now?

We are Rushing, Rushing to work, Rushing to summit report, Rushing to attend meeting, Rushing to complete project.

How many people are willing slow down their Steps, put down what they are doing and take a good look around while observing the things happening around them?

Those are just some simple things that the Children are doing in the park, these things don't cost any money either.
But they are happy, you can see it from the Smile on their Faces, the Smile of Happiness.

What about us?
We earned our own Living, we can go wherever we want and even buy anything we want.
But why don't we have such Smile on our face?

Is it because we are trying too hard to make ourselves happy, or should I say, trying too hard to satisfy our needs?

Take a walk in the Park when you are free, take a walk around your neighbourhood.

Slow down your pace, observe whats happening.

Look into your Memories, and look for the Lost Child in you too.

Play around like a Child, Run around like one, and most Importantly Smile like one.

After all, people always say, there's a Child living in everyone of us isn't it?

Treasure what you have, forgets about what you want.
Give yourself a break, a break away from the busy World out there.

After all, why work so hard for Happiness while these are the Simple Happiness that we can achieve everyday =)

The world is ever changing and we live. In the process we are force to embrace what ever the world offers. And then we forget the things that really matter. We drift with the uncertain ebb of the tides, not anchored, undefined.

We forget the child in us who knows in his/her heart who we really are ~ the key to that elusive joy and contentment.

Contenually the world claims to offer multitude source of happiness and we buy them all.

When are we going to once again listen to our core, the child within? If we only learn to take heed, then we are anchored. We need peace and quiet to pay attention to silence to understand.

The article you wrote here is an invitation to that kind of silence. The thoughts guide us to our core to pay attention ~ and perhaps to understand.

    I did.

    I wish you well.
