Do The Things You Fear

Life Story by Daniel | Tuesday, August 26, 2008 | 2 comments »

It's always easier said than done.

But do you know if you give in to fear or feeling fearful, it actually sets up the impression in your brain that you'll feel the same fear next time?
And if you act boldly and courageously, that action sets up the impression in your brain that you'll be bold and courageous in the same situation the next time?

It's just like installing a typical software into a computer, which controls how your computer works.

Nobody wants to program fear into their lives, but that's what you do when you give in to fear.
And what does that get you? More fear.
If you aren't careful, fear becomes a way of life.

So what can we do to be courageous? Do courageous things!
Even a little courageous things. Little things grow big, and soon you feel courageous naturally.

The more you do something, the more you are able to do it.
There's always a first time for everything. Program your brain, program to it that you've done it successfully and it'll be ready to do it anytime again.
But if you don't, just because you're afraid, your brain will continue to bring that fear into your life.

But of course, being courageous doesn't mean jumping from an airplane or down a building without a parachute.
That does not mean making a decision without all the facts.
That does not mean buying something on credit and HOPE the money will come in.

Don't mistake being courageous as doing something gigantic something you would never be able to do. It's not foolishness.

Being courageous, to some people, means stepping out of their comfort zone. Knowing and understanding more people around them.

Courage also allows you to develop your ability to take intelligent risks consciously and allows you to do things which you normally fear in making mistake with.

Remember how much of a stretch it is for babies to take that first step?
But nce they do, that second step comes much easier.
No one will tell the baby he or she should stop trying, he or she will never learn to walk.

Be kind to yourself. Don't tell yourself that, either.

    Do the things you fear
    Get them done quickly dear
    Before time gets too near
And you find them hard to bear

This is very true. Only facing your fear will lead you to the next step in life. Avoiding fear will make it repeats. Better face it early to move on. :)
