Do The Things You Fear

Life Story by Daniel | Tuesday, August 26, 2008 | 2 comments »

It's always easier said than done.

But do you know if you give in to fear or feeling fearful, it actually sets up the impression in your brain that you'll feel the same fear next time?
And if you act boldly and courageously, that action sets up the impression in your brain that you'll be bold and courageous in the same situation the next time?

It's just like installing a typical software into a computer, which controls how your computer works.

Nobody wants to program fear into their lives, but that's what you do when you give in to fear.
And what does that get you? More fear.
If you aren't careful, fear becomes a way of life.

So what can we do to be courageous? Do courageous things!
Even a little courageous things. Little things grow big, and soon you feel courageous naturally.

The more you do something, the more you are able to do it.
There's always a first time for everything. Program your brain, program to it that you've done it successfully and it'll be ready to do it anytime again.
But if you don't, just because you're afraid, your brain will continue to bring that fear into your life.

But of course, being courageous doesn't mean jumping from an airplane or down a building without a parachute.
That does not mean making a decision without all the facts.
That does not mean buying something on credit and HOPE the money will come in.

Don't mistake being courageous as doing something gigantic something you would never be able to do. It's not foolishness.

Being courageous, to some people, means stepping out of their comfort zone. Knowing and understanding more people around them.

Courage also allows you to develop your ability to take intelligent risks consciously and allows you to do things which you normally fear in making mistake with.

Remember how much of a stretch it is for babies to take that first step?
But nce they do, that second step comes much easier.
No one will tell the baby he or she should stop trying, he or she will never learn to walk.

Be kind to yourself. Don't tell yourself that, either.

Reality Is For People With No Imagination

Life Story by Daniel | Sunday, August 24, 2008 | 2 comments »

Sometimes people who live alone can't imagine anything different happening to them.

Maybe they live in a 1 bedroom apartment or small home.
They have meals on wheels at lunch-time, TV dinners at 5 p.m.
They watch the news at 6, maybe a favorite program at 7, and well you catch the drill.

That is their reality and maybe their favorite phrases are: 'That's just how it is' and ‘That's just the way I am’

Well, that's not the way it has to be.

They don't think anyone will ever come to see them, they'll never take a vacation, they don't ever have enough money for anything, their grand-kids never stop by, their kids haven't called all week, why don't they just sit here and silently wait for the other shoe to drop.
Well, that's not the way it has to be.

Next door is a lady or gentleman or couple that go out all the time.
They have company over often, they laugh and they enjoy life. Their grand-kids stop by, their children phone them often and they have a great conversation.

And they can't imagine not living this way!

What makes these two sets of people so different?
What makes them so different is how they view their reality!

Look again at the title: Reality Is For People Without Imagination.
Wouldn't you like to change your reality? Start expecting something better?

Do not worry, this change is nothing nothing drastic to start out with :)
Maybe just that the sun will shine today, the phone will ring (and it definitely won't be another salesman) or loved one will unexpectedly show up.

For a start, maybe you would like to spend the time you used every morning thinking "Today will be just another day" and begin saying "Everyday in every way I am better, better, and better."
Make it a habit and till you find yourself pulling out of the negative frame of "boring" mind, start switching to "I love myself and all creation!" (It may sound crazy but when you've accomplished it, you will feel a shift in your feelings, you'll find yourself smiling more, and you just might find that life is more enjoyable!)

But why not start "I love myself and all creation!" immediately?
The reason is simple, if you can't find yourself getting better and better everyday how could you love yourself and love every other things around you?
(The most important part is, you are getting better and better everyday through your experience. But there is a need to remind yourself to feel it)

Still can't understand how it really works?
Let us look it in another angle, the more logical way.

If every morning the first thing in your mind is what you've ALWAYS thought of, you will STAY exactly where you are, DOING exactly what you are doing, SEEING exactly the same people you are seeing now - which for some is NOBODY or even a meaningless life.

Alternatively you could spend 15 minutes a day (right before you've wake up would be nice and effective) just relaxing, stretching your bones and letting your brain rest.
During that time, say ONLY good thoughts to yourself.
Imagine, all your friends and loved ones are getting up at the same time and feeling the same loving thoughts.

Doesn't it feel better now comparing the every morning 'Life's so boring' routine?
The more time you spend being good to YOURSELF, the more you will attract good into YOUR life.

What was that title again?
REALITY (what you see in your life now and call reality) IS FOR PEOPLE WITH NO IMAGINATION.
Imagine yourself where you want to be, and LET the good things happen!

DeNile River

Life Story by Daniel | Thursday, August 21, 2008 | 0 comments »

Do you spend your life floating on 'denial' river?
Do you deny things you're able to achieve?
Do you THINK things are tough, so you don't do them?

'I can't do that', 'I can't use the computer', and ‘I can't take over that project'.

You feel you're too busy, so you deny yourself the chance to discover and to live a full life.

It's your thoughts that keep you where you are or take you where you desire to go.
Suss out ALL negative thoughts and see if they really apply to the situation.
If you don't, you could end up like the man in the mountains who went to find a guru in the following story:

He climbed the mountain, found the guru and asked, "Guru, my mother-in-law has just moved in with us. We live in a one room hut. What am I to do? I hate my mother-in-law."

The guru says, "Do you have a goat?"
The man says, "Yes, I have a goat."

"Move the goat into the hut with you. Come back and see me in a week."
The man leaves, does the guru's bidding, and comes back in a week.

"Guru, things didn't get better. They got worse. I not only have my mother-in-law in the hut with us, but now we have a goat. I really hate my mother-in-law."

The guru responds, "Do you have chickens?"
"Yes, I have chickens."

"Move the chickens into the hut with you. Come back and see me in a week."
The beleaguered man leaves to do the Guru's bidding. He comes back in a week.

"Guru, I cannot stand it. Matters are unquestionably worse. I now not only have my mother-in-law, whom I hate, in the hut with us, but now we have a goat AND chickens. I really, really hate my mother-in-law."

The guru says, "Do you have a pig?"
The man sighed. "Yes, I have a pig."

"Move the pig into the hut with you. Come back and see me in a week."
The lost man leaves to do the Guru's bidding. He comes back in a week.

"Guru, I cannot stand it. Matters have gotten much worse. I now not only have my mother-in-law, whom I truly hate, in the hut with us, but now we have a goat AND chickens AND a pig. I really, truly hate my mother-in-law."

The guru says, "Do you have kittens?"
The man's eyes dart around miserably. "Yes," he answers. "I have kittens."

"Put the kittens in the hut with you. Come see me in a week."
The poor, dejected man leaves. He comes back in a week.

"Guru, please. It has gotten worse and worse. I now not only have my mother-in-law, whom I cannot tell you how much I hate, in the hut with us, but now we have a goat AND chickens AND a pig AND kittens. I really, truly hate my mother-in-law. I'm serious."

The guru says, "Do you have a dog?"
The man's eyes went up to the sky. When he found no divine help there, he sighed. "Yes, I have a dog." His shoulders shuddered at what, by now, he knew the guru would say.

"Put the dog in the hut with you. Come back in a week."
The poor, dejected man leaves. He comes back in a week.

"Guru, I cannot take it anymore. I have not only my mother-in-law in the hut with us, but now we have a goat AND chickens AND a pig AND kittens AND a dog." He shook his head. A tear trickled down both his cheek, because he knew the guru was going to say something dreadful.

The guru smiled. "Now, take out all the animals. Come and see me in a week."
The bewildered man blinked in confusion as he left. He came back in a week.

His step was spry, his smile wide. "Hello, Guru," he called before he even arrived to the top of the mountain. "It's a beautiful day."

The guru asked, "And how is your mother-in-law, my son?"
"Oh, you mean that fine lady living with us? Truthfully, she is not so bad."

The guru said, "You’ve learned much, my son."

Sometimes in life, we need to KNOW things actually isn't so bad, before we can travel the road to success.

Why Do I Yawn?

Life Story by Daniel | Monday, August 18, 2008 | 0 comments »

Been yawning the whole morning since I've arrive office.
What really causes me to yawn? Is yawning really contagious?

After researching on the web regarding 'Yawn', here's what I've found :)

Everybody yawns — from unborn babies to the oldest great-grandparent. Animals do it, too.

But why, exactly, do people and animals yawn?
No one knows for sure. There are many theories (ideas) about why people yawn.

One is that when we are bored or tired, we just don't breathe as deeply as we usually do.
As this theory goes, our bodies take in less oxygen because our breathing has slowed.
Therefore, yawning helps us bring more oxygen into the blood and move more carbon dioxide out of the blood.
Yawning, then, would be an involuntary reflex (something we can't really control) to help us control our oxygen and carbon dioxide levels.

Sounds good, but other studies have shown that breathing more oxygen does not decrease yawning. Likewise, breathing more carbon dioxide does not increase yawning. Hmmm. Now what?

Another theory is that yawning stretches the lungs and lung tissue. Stretching and yawning may be a way to flex muscles and joints, increase heart rate, and feel more awake.
Other people believe that yawning is a protective reflex to redistribute the oil-like substance called surfactant (say: sur-fak-tint) that helps keep lungs lubricated inside and keeps them from collapsing.

So, if we didn't yawn, according to this theory, taking a deep breath would become harder and harder — and that would not be good!
But there is one idea about yawning that everyone knows to be true.
It seems contagious.

If you yawn in class, you'll probably notice a few other people will start yawning, too.
Even thinking about yawning can get you yawning.
How many times have you yawned while reading this article? I hope not many!
